Welcome to Al-Marhamah Foundation Empowering Communities Through Compassion
At Al-Marhamah Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of compassion and the profound impact it can have on communities in need. Guided by the principles of Islam, we strive to uplift the disadvantaged, provide hope to the vulnerable, and foster a culture of giving that transcends boundaries.
Islamic Values
As an Islamic charity, we are guided by the values of compassion, generosity, and social justice. Our work is inspired by the teachings of Islam, which emphasise the importance of caring for the less fortunate and promoting equity and equality for all.
Compassion (Rahma)
Central to Islam is the principle of compassion. As a charity, we embody this value by extending our care and support to those in need, regardless of their background, race, or religion. We believe in showing kindness and empathy towards all members of humanity, reflecting the mercy of the Creator.
Generosity (Sadaqah)
The concept of giving generously is deeply ingrained in Islamic teachings. Our charity encourages and facilitates acts of charity and giving, recognising that sharing wealth and resources with others is not only a moral duty but also a means of purifying one’s wealth and earning blessings from Allah.
Social Justice (Adl)
Islam emphasises the importance of justice and fairness in all aspects of life. Our charity is committed to promoting social justice by addressing systemic inequalities, advocating for the rights of the marginalised, and working towards a more equitable society where everyone has access to opportunities and basic necessities.
Unity (Tawhid)
Islam teaches the unity of humanity and the interconnectedness of all beings. Our charity embraces this value by fostering unity and solidarity among diverse communities, recognizing that we are all part of the human family. By coming together in pursuit of common goals, we can achieve greater impact and create positive change.
Dignity (Karama)
Every individual is entitled to dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances. Our charity upholds this value by treating all beneficiaries with dignity, empowering them to regain control over their lives, and preserving their sense of self-worth. We believe in restoring dignity to those who have been marginalized or oppressed, affirming their inherent value as human beings.
Stewardship (Khalifa)
Islam teaches that humans are stewards of the Earth and its resources, entrusted by Allah with the responsibility of caring for creation. Our charity is committed to environmental sustainability and responsible stewardship of resources, recognizing the importance of preserving the planet for future generations. We strive to implement eco-friendly practices in our operations and encourage others to do the same.
These six Islamic values serve as the guiding principles of our charity, inspiring us to serve humanity with compassion, generosity, and integrity. By upholding these values, we aim to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve and contribute to a more just and compassionate world.
